Air Sahara Airlines (Now Jet Lite)

Air Sahara, now Jet Lite, was the part of Sahara India Pariwar and initiated its operations on 20th September 1991 as Sahara Airlines. On 2nd October 2000, the airline was renamed as Air Sahara and from there it never looked back.

It was awarded with Pacific Asia Travel Association Gold Award in year 2003 at 52nd PATA Annual conference at Bali, Indonesia. It was also awarded the Largest Web Merchant of India times for the year 2003. On March 22nd 2004, it expanded to the international realms by starting flights between Chennai and Colombo from.

The landmark in the history of Air Sahara was when it was taken over by Jet Airways on 16th April 2007, and it was named as Jet Lite.

Air Sahara Services: Air Sahara or Jet Lite provides air transfers between all the major metropolitans and offers 110 flights daily. It also provides chartered helicopter service and helicopter service for aerial photography. Being a no-frill airline one has to purchase food from the al-a-cart menu in the cafeteria.

Air Sahara Airfare: Air Sahara provides low fare flights between many domestic and international destinations. These no frill flights are offered at cheap rates, and hence are affordable for budget travelers too.

Air Sahara Fleet: Air Sahara has a fleet of 7 Boeing 737-700, 2 Boeing 737-400, 8 Boeing 737-800 and 7 Bombardier CRJ-200ER. It also owns 3 Ecureuil Helicopter and 1 Dauphin Helicopter.

International Destinations: Sri Lanka and Nepal.
