How to Reach Coimbatore Airport
The main city and the airport are situated at a short distance from each other. You can reach the airport easily by hiring auto rickshaws or taxis or you can also board the local bus.
Structure of Coimbatore Airport: The airport currently features
one terminal only. There are two hangars, one for private carriers and the other for Coimbatore Flying Club. Parking area of the airport has a capacity of holding 6 aircrafts at a time. There is also an in-house fire station to handle emergencies.
Coimbatore Airport also holds an Instrument Landing System (ILS) installed.
Important info: Security is high at the airport and it takes longer time for checking procedures. Thus, passengers are advised to reach the airport well in advance to avoid any unwanted delay. Food and beverages available at the airport are offered at higher prices than the usual.
