+ Copenhagen (CPH) is 8km (5 miles) southeast of the city. A new rail-link between the airport and main railway station has recently been opened. There are also regular bus service from the airport departing every 15 minutes. Airport facilities include bar, duty free shop, car hire and restaurant.
+ Arhus (AAR) (Tirstrup) is 44 km (27 miles) from the city. Buses connect with flight arrivals; taxis are also available. Airport facilities include a duty-free shop, a wide range of car hire firms, banks, a post office and a restaurant.
Visa Information
Tourist
The applicant should have a passport valid for at least three months beyond the period of stay in Denmark; two visa forms (photocopy not allowed) properly filled in; two passport-size colour photographs; confirmed onward/ return air ticket; onward visa unless applicant is returning directly to India; Overseas medical health Insurance for duration of stay in Schengen state; Evidence of sufficient funds for maintenance during stay in Schengen state e.g sponsorship letter taking guarantee of all costs during the stay, if invited by friends or family (Copy should be faxed directly in the Embassy). Visa can be granted for a maximum stay of 90 days with maximum validity of six months. Processing time is 48 hours. Visa fee is as follows.

Note: All applications not meeting Embassy requirements are sent to the Danish Immigration Service for approval. The approval normally takes 6 to 8 weeks. Even if all the requirements are met, the Embassy may, at its discretion, still send the application to Denmark for approval.
Business
Documentation, processing time and fee are same as above. Additional requirements are: a covering letter from the Indian organisation giving details of business to be undertaken employment details and position of the applicant in the company ; a original letter of invitation from the associates in Denmark stating the purpose, the dates and the duration of the visit and evidence of funds to cover expanses including access to foreign exchange. Transit
As a general rule Indian Nationals must obtain a visa before travelling in transit through a Danish airport whether changing aircraft or not. However Indian nationals holding a residence permit/visa of an EU or EEA country, Switzerland, USA or Canada are exempt from airport transit visas. Application procedures are same as Tourist with confirmed onward air ticket and valid visa for onward destination.

Seamen
Visa is required. Indian seamen travelling on duty must hold Letter of Guarantee from the shipping company with seamen book and passport. Relevant support documents giving name of the ship, details of expected date and port of joining the ship are also required.

Residence
Basic application documents are same as above with ?Solemn Declaration? form in person assuming full responsibility for all information provided. Additional requirements are a Work Contract signed by the employer and the applicant if any; Employer?s Residence Status; Employer?s business registration and evidence of applicants financial means if applicant is paying for the trip to Denmark. This visa is referred to Immigration Service Denmark, and can take minimum 2 to 3 months for approval. Once approved, processing time is 48 hrs.
Visa fee is INR 4400.

Visa Information
Indian national can obtain short stay visa for a period ranging from 1 to 90 days, valid for all countries of the Schengen Territory i.e. Germany, Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg), Spain, France, Portugal, Austria, Italy and Greece. The Schengen Convention is a great step towards freedom of circulation of people. Foreigners bearing a valid stay permit delivered by one of the Schengen state can leave and later re-enter the Schengen Territory without having to ask for a visa again, on condition they have a valid passport and relevant travel document. Application for visa have to be submitted with the competent Consular authorities, which are to be determined according to thr following criteria:
* If the applicant intends to stay in one country only, application should be submitted at the Representation of the same country.
* If the applicant wishes to travel to several member states, application should be submitted at the Representation of the country where the main purpose of travel lies, determined by te duration of stay.
* If the main destination cannot be ascertained, the competent Consular office for processing the application will be one of the countries of the first port of entry into the Schengen Territory.
* Long term visas are still subjected to the law of the country of the destination. They must be applied for at the Consular Authorities of the concerned member states.
Tourist
The applicant should have passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of application for the visa; one visa form (photocopy allowed); one passport size photograph; confirmed onward/return air ticket; onward visa; medical health insurance (covering period of stay in Schengen Countries) and proof of funds, for the stay. If exceeding 15 days, a sponsorship certificate is also required. Visa is valid for 6 months with a stay of 90 days. Processing time is 24 hours. Visa fee is French Francs 200 to be paid in equivalent to INR 1138 approx.
Business
Other than the basic document detailed for tourism, businessman must have a covering letter from the Indian organisation recommending travel providing professional and financial stability of the company/ individual, an invitation from French company is also necessary. However, a recommendation from the French Trade Commission or Indo French Chamber of Commerce can substitute for certain above documents. Visa validity can be from 1 to 5 years with total stay of 180 days allowed in a year. This can be covered by multiple visits, but each visit must not exceed 90 days.

Transit
Visa is required. Application procedures are the same as for a Tourist visa. Visa validity is as per the discretion of the Embassy with a stay of maximum 5 days allowed. Visa fee is French Franc 60, to be paid in equivalent to INR.

Airport Transit Indian nationals travelling to Europe, UK, USA, Switzerland, Canada do not require VTA airport transit visa to visit any schengen state.
Seamen
Visa is required. Indian seamen travelling on duty must hold Letter of Guarantee from the shipping company with seamen book and passport. A fax message from the shipping company in France to the Embassy giving particulars of the seamen, date and port of joining the ship is required. Documentation is the same as for a Transit visa.
Work Permit
Indian nationals seeking visa for a work permit must have approval from the International Immigration office in France. When approval is received the Embassy will advise applicant. Long Term visa will be granted.
