Bhavnagar, also known as
Kathiawar, is a sprawling city in the Indian state of
Gujarat. It was founded in 1723 and used as a transit
point for the travelers to the nearby Shatrunjaya and
Veladavar National Park. It is one of the main industrial
centers of the state and had been known for the cotton
trade operated from here along the coast. There is not
much to see except taking some strolls in the old city.
Hotels in Bhavnagar are in plenty. However, booking
in advance will be useful if you are planning to put up
at a decent one of the many Bhavnagar hotels. You
can find accommodation also at the old city. Some of the
reasonable budget hotels in Bhavnagar are Bluehill
Hotel and Hotel White Rose. Hotel Mausam is a good choice
for a midrange category. There is some top-class accommodations
available in the new city: Nilambag Palace Hotel and Hotel
Sun'n Shine are premier choices. |
