Air Canada
Air Canada is the flag carrier and the largest airline of Canada. It was launched in 1936. It provides planned and charter air transportation for passengers. It also provides cargo to 178 destinations worldwide.The largest hub of Air Canada is Toronto Pearson International Airport in Ontario. Its major base is Montreal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport in Quebec.
Air Canada is the seventh largest passenger airline in the world by fleet size. It is a starting member of Star Alliance, which is an alliance of 26 member airlines formed in 1997.
Corporate headquarters of Air Canada are located in the Saint-Laurent area of Montreal, Quebec. The airline's parent company is the publicly traded firm ACE Aviation Holdings.
Air Canada Services:
Air Canada has two categories of service, which includes both business and economy, on all aircraft.
On a journey of long distance international routes, Executive First and Economy Class is provided however a journey of short distance and domestic routes feature Executive Class and Economy Class.
Air Canada Fleet:
The Air Canada maintains a fleet which includes 202 aircraft, as of 21 February 2010. All aircraft are now en suite with the new interior, except 3 B767-300ERs. The new interior is a revamp of the cabin. Besides, the installation of individual video, displays in both Executive First and Economy classes. The Air Canada fleet is comprised of 202 aircraft including Airbus A319-100, Airbus A320-200, Airbus A321-200, Airbus A330-300, Boeing 767-300ER, 211 (24/187), 247 (24/223)[48], Boeing 777-200LR, Boeing 777-300ER, Boeing 787-8, Embraer E-175 and Embraer E-190.
Air Canada Destinations:
Air Canada serves 15 domestic destinations and 81 international destinations in 33 countries (including British overseas territories, Kingdom of the Netherlands, Overseas departments and territories of France and United States territories) across Asia, Americas, Europe and Oceania.
Air Canada has operated several 5th freedom routes, only one of which is still operated. The 5th freedom routes which are not operated currently are London Heathrow-Düsseldorf, Paris-Geneva, Paris-Munich, Frankfurt-Zurich and London Heathrow-Bombay-Singapore.
