Druk Air

Druk Air is the national airline operator of Bhutan. The carrier plies its flights to some cities situated in five countries. The major hub of Druk Air is located at Paro Airport in Bhutan. The airline is completely possessed by the Government of Bhutan. It offers planned flights to many destinations within South Asia. Druk Air was founded on April 5, 1981. However, it commenced its operations on February 11, 1983.

When it started its operations, the Airline used an 18-seatet Dornier 228-200. In the beginning, the flight operations were commenced from Paro to Kolkata and Dhaka. It later started its Jet services in November of the year 1988 and afterwards increased its network to connect Paro with New Delhi, Kathmandu and Bangkok. In the year 1991, Druk Air got registered under the Companies Act of Bhutan. Three years later, the airline company introduced an executive class 10 seats aircraft. Later in the year 2004, the airline carried out its first commercial flight service with its Airbus A319. In the next year, the Governments of India and Bhutan signed an Air Services Agreement, according to which, it was decided to increase the number of weekly flights between the countries. It was very recent when the airline decided to reduce its flight frequencies owing to the increased oil prices.

The airline operates a fleet that includes 2 Airbus A319-100 and 2 Airbus A320-200.
Druk Air Destinations:
Destinations covered by Druk Air include Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and Thailand. In India, the airline operates its flight to Delhi, Kolkata and Siliguri. In the near future, Druk Air expects to fly to Hong Kong, Singapore and Dubai.
