Gulf Air

Gulf Air is the national airline of Bahrain. The main base of this airline is located at the Bahrain International Airport. Being one of the oldest air carriers in the Middle East region, it serves many passengers traveling in and out of the Gulf region. The airline is owned by the Kingdom of Bahrain, Sultanate of Oman and Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

It has got three subsidiaries, under the name of Gulf Air Cargo, Gulf Air Hotels and Gulf Air Cars. This airline has a logo featuring a golden falcon. The airline was actually found by an English pilot called Freddie Bosworth. It was started as a private share holding company called Gulf Aviation. Later in the year 1950, the airline launched its services. In the year 1981, Gulf Air joined IATA (International Air Transport Association) and went on to become the first international airline of Riyadh. Another feather in the crown of Gulf Air was put when in 1990; it became the first ever Arab Airline to fly its flights to Australia. The airline then launched its subsidiary all-economy full-service airline named Gulf Traveler. Later in the year 2006, Abu Dhabi withdrew from Gulf Air to commence its own airline operations.

In the month of November 2007, Oman backed out from the airline and then Bahrain claimed a 100% ownership stake in the airline. The in 2008, Gulf Air also became the official sponsor of Queens Park Rangers, a fledgling English Football Club.

Gulf Air Fleet:
Gulf Air features a fleet of 38 aircrafts that are operational. The list of flights include two Airbus A319-100, ten Airbus A320-200, two Airbus A321-200, ten Airbus A330-200, nine Airbus A340-300, and four Boeing 777-300ER. The airline has also placed new orders to increase its fleet capacity.

Gulf Air Destinations:
Gulf Air serves around 41 destinations located in 26 different countries. The airline serves 41 destinations in 26 countries, covering all of Europe, Asia and Africa. It flies to France, Germany, United Kingdom, Turkey and Greece in Europe. In Asia, it serves the countries of India, UAE, Philippines, Thailand, Bahrain, Pakistan, China, Malaysia, Kuwait, Lebanon, Omar, Nepal, Bangladesh, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Cyprus, Iran, Jordan, Syria, and Yemen. It covers Egypt and Sudan in North Africa.
