KLM Airline

KLM is the national airline of Netherlands. It is the shortened name of Koninklijke Luchtvaart Maatschappij, which literally means Royal Aviation Company. The flight operator also serves as the subsidiary of Air France-KLM. KLM used to be the national airline of the Netherlands before it got merged with Air France. Amsterdam Airport Schiphol acts as the home base of KLM airlines. With its headquarters in the Amstelveen Netherlands, the airline operates scheduled passenger flights as well as cargo flights to several destinations located in different parts of the world.

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is popular for being one of the oldest airlines in the world. The airline was established in the year 1919 and it operated its maiden flight on May 17, 1920. From the next year, i.e. 1921, the airline started offering its scheduled services on regular basis and within next five years, the airline started operating its number of flights to major European destinations like Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Brussels, Paris, London, Bremen and Copenhagen. KLM started its intercontinental services to Netherlands East Indies. This also was the longest scheduled route in those days.

KLM's modern fleet comprises of 117 aircrafts like Boeing 737-800, Boeing 777-200ER, Boeing 747-400ERF, Boeing 747-400M, Boeing 747-400, Boeing 777-300ER, Boeing 737-700, Boeing 737-400, Boeing 737-900, Boeing 737-300 and Airbus A330-200.

KLM Destinations:
At present, KLM operates its flights to over 125 destinations located in 59 countries across the world. The airline covers all major cities of Asia, Africa, Central, North and South America and Europe.
