Mahan Air

Mahan Air, a private airline is based in Teheran (Iran). It was set up in 1991 and started its functioning in 1992. It possesses the merit of being the first private carrier of Iran. The airline is a comparatively new competitor to the field of civil aviation.

It turned out to be a member of International Air Transport Association (IATA), in 2001. The major hub of this airline is situated at Imam Khomeini International Airport (IKA), Tehran.

The airline maintains a fleet of two Tupolev 154 aircraft, plying flights from Tehran to two other domestic destinations, when it began its early operations. The airline began lining up at a rapid speed, with the addition of Airbus A300 wide-body aircraft into its fleet in 1999. In 2001, the airline integrated one more aircraft into its fleet, namely Airbus A310, which enabled the airline to cover destinations beyond its region. Over the passing years, the airline has witnessed an extensive growth. In the present time, the airline has obtained 13% business of all international flights from Iran, while it has plies 8% of the total number of domestic flights in Iran.

Mahan Air Fleet:
At present, Mahan Air maintains a fleet comprising 24 aircrafts, which includes McDonnell Douglas MD-82, Boeing 747-400, Boeing 747-300, BAe 146-300, Airbus A310-300, Airbus A300B4 and Airbus A300B2.

Mahan Air Destinations:
Mahan Air provides planned domestic services and international flights to 28 destinations in 12 countries in Europe and Asia, cargo and passenger charters to Russia and the Middle East, and pilgrim services from Kerman to Syria. Its international destinations include India, Iraq, Thailand, Dubai, Germany, Turkey and United Kingdom. Besides, Mahan Air connects to Ahvaz, Asalouyeh, Bandar Abbas, Iranshahr, Kerman, Kish Island, Mashhad, Qeshm, Shiraz, Sirjan, Tehran, Zabol and Zahedan; in Iran. In India, Mahan Air flies to Delhi and Amritsar.
