Royal Nepal Airlines

Royal Nepal Airlines is the national flag-carrier airline of Nepal. Air transport is incredibly essential for the economic development of Nepal as it is a non-coastal country and 90% of its area is covered by mountains.

Royal Nepal Airlines also plays a vital role in the national integration of the country, as no other means of transport is well-developed in the country. The main hub of Royal Nepal Airlines is Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu.

In July 1958, Nepal set up its own airline, named as Royal Nepal Airlines Corporation (RNAC), which started its operations with a Douglas DC-3 aircraft. In 1960s, the airline began expanding its fleet and its network of destinations.
