Kingfisher Airlines

Kingfisher Airlines is one of the most significant entries in the aviation industry and it plays an important part in India's Growth. It has its Headquarters in Vile Parle (East), Mumbai and it is owned by Dr. Vijay Mallya. The airline started its operations on 9th May '2005 and it is applauded for its luxurious services and facilities. Skytrax, the independent research consultancy has ranked the airlines as a 5-star airline. Kingfisher operates on daily basis with 375 flights to 71 destinations that include regional and international services.

How Kingfisher came into existence

UB group, the huge brew company all across the world that owns several beverage giants launched its own airlines. It was named after its Brewery Brand "Kingfisher Airlines" and it was predicted that aviation sector would soon see remarkable competition coming from them. After the inauguration of service provider, it purchased several large capacity aircrafts from Airbus like Airbus A380s. The Airlines was recognized in 2003 and it started operating commercialy on 9 May '2005 from Mumbai to Delhi. Hence it further extended its international operations and initiated it on 3 September 2008 by connecting Bangalore with London.

Fleet:

At present, the fleet of Kingfisher Airlines consists of ATR 72 and ATR 42. It consists of family aircraft Airbus A320 that is utilized for domestic services and airbus A330-200s, that is used for international routes. Kingfisher's fleet consists of an assortment of aircrafts like Airbus A319-100, Airbus A320-200, Airbus A321-200 Airbus A330-200, Airbus A350-800, Airbus A380-800, ATR 42-500 and ATR 72-50.

Airlines Destinations

The service provider operates in 71 destinations that include 63 domestic destinations and 8 international destinations across Asia and Europe. It operates regular flights to all Major Cities in India like New Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Goa, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, and Kolkata. In year 2008 the airline launched international flights to Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Dubai and London.

Facilities

The airline is popular for providing world-class service to its guests. The in-flight entertainment system is installed on every seat, whether it is domestic or international routes. On arrival, passengers are gifted with a "welcome kit" that includes various goodies like pen, facial tissue and headphones that can be used in IFE system installed in the seat of aircraft. They can watch recorded TV programming on this system. Airline also provides premium services to passengers such as sleeperette seats with extended footrests. Passengers can watch video on demand and they can enjoy scrumptious three-course gourmet meals offered by the airline.
