Visa Information
Tourist
The applicant should have a passport valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended date of departure from New Zealand; one visa form (Photocopy allowed); The form can be used by a single applicant or a family which includes the principal applicant, spouse and dependent children under 20 years of age; one passport-size photograph, less than one year old (for each member of the family if they are travelling); confirmed onward/ return air ticket is recommended as support document; onward visa and proof of funds e.g. bank statements for past six months; recognised credit cards with sufficient funds, evidence of employment and evidence of previous travel if any. The proof of funds can also be in the form of one of the following:
(a) New Zealand Dollars 1000 per head per month, if accommodation is not pre-paid.
(b) New Zealand Dollars 400 per head per month, if the accommodation is pre-paid (evidence, such as pre-paid hotel vouchers will have to be shown).
(c) If the required funds are not available then a guarantee of accommodation and maintenance from the sponsor in New Zealand is required. The sponsor can be a friend/ relative who is a citizen or a resident of New Zealand. In this case, the sponsorship form is to be submitted, in original, when applying for a visa. Visa is valid for maximum period of three months from the date of issue. Processing time is 3 working days or more.
Visa fee is INR 3600.
Business
If the intention is to visit New Zealand to discuss and negotiate business arrangements and stay is not for more than three months in any one year, Indian nationals will need to meet visitor visa requirements. Application procedures are as above. Additional requirements are: a covering letter from the individual or business house detailing purpose of visit and a letter of invitation from the business associates in New Zealand. Other details remain the same. If the stay is for more than three months then work visa must be obtained.
Transit
Indian nationals need to apply for a Transit visa if travelling between New Zealand and Cook Islands, Fiji, New Caledonia, Solomon Island, Tahiti, Tonga, Vanuatu and Western Samoa, for less than 24 hours and will not leave the transit area of the airport. If travellers wish to leave the transit area of the airport or remain longer than a 24 hour period, they should apply for a visitor visa. Application procedures are the same as for a Tourist Visa. Additional requirements are a confirmed return air ticket and detailed itinerary; evidence of entry into onward destination-visas and permits; e t. A fax message from the shipping agent in New Zealand to the High Commission giving particulars of the seamen, date and port of joining the ship and guaranteeing repatriation is required. Other details are the same as for Tourist Visa.
Visa fee is INR 4800.
Seamen
Visa is required. Indian seamen travelling on duty must hold Letter of Guarantee from the shipping company with seamen book and passport. A fax message from the shipping company in New Zealand to the High Commission giving the particulars of the seamen, date and port of joining the ship is required. Documentation is same as in Tourist.
Work
Other than basic required documents, applicant must have employment contract from employer in New Zealand; approval in principle from New Zealand Immigration Service; all qualification certificates inclusive of previous work experience. These documents must be provided in original along with certified copies. If the contract is for more than 24 months duration, then a medical is required by an Embassy approved doctor and a Police Clearance Certificate from the passport office must also be enclosed. A personal interview will be conducted in most cases and verifications for all documentation will be required.
Visa fee is INR 6000.

Business
Basic requirements are same as above. In addition, a visa support letter or invitation directly sent to the Embassy from the Russian receiving organization attested by the Ministry of External Affairs Consular Department is essential. Transit
The applicant must have a valid passport; one visa form (photocopy allowed); four passport-size photographs; air ticket with all its sectors confirmed till the country of next destination and valid onward visa. Processing time is as Tourist.

Visa is required. Indian seamen travelling on duty must hold Letter of Guarantee from the shipping company with seamen book and passport. A fax message from the shipping agent in Russia to the Embassy giving particulars of the seamen, date and port of joining the ship is required.
