+ Changi (SIN) is 20km (12 miles) east of the city. Airport facilities include fitness centre, banks, supermarket, medical clinics. Public transportation is readily available to the city centre.

Visa Information
Tourist
The applicant must have passport valid for six months beyond intended stay in Singapore; one completed visa application form ( Form 14, photocopy allowed); one recent passport-size photograph (In Chennai Consulate three photographs are required in 45mm x 35 mm in matt finish); confirmed return/ onward air ticket; valid entry visa to the next destination of travel and proof of funds at least USD 600 for a short visit. Passenger may be required to show this on arrival into Singapore. Visa validity is for 90 days with a short stay allowed. Processing time is two working days. For groups, requirements are covering letter from Tour Operator & list of passengers, hotel confirmation from Singapore, acceptance letter from the handling agent in Singapore and their tour itinerary. Other details same as in tourist.

Note: Submission of visa application can be made between 0900 to 1200 hrs on any working day. Collection of passports is on the next working day between 1400 to 1600 hrs. Travel Agents are strongly encouraged to submit their client?s applications before 1030 hrs. The processing time will be three instead of two working days if applications are submitted after 1030 hrs. Visas are not issued on the same day.

Business
Multiple journey visas may be issued to businessmen, investors, etc. In such cases, applications must be supported by Singapore company letter, sponsoring the applicants. Details such as the paid-up capital, nature of business, names should be clearly spelt out. Proof of frequent visits should also be warranted. Processing time and visa fee are same as for Tourist.

Transit
Visa is required. Application and other details are as in Tourist.

Seamen
Travelling on duty must hold a Seamen Discharge Book or passport. Visa is not required if the seamen is to join another ship in Singapore as crew within 72 hours. However, Letter of Guarantee from the Singapore Shipping Company must be produced on or before arrival, giving details of arrival and departure of the ship and confirming that the seamen is leaving as a crew within 72 hours. If arriving by air, inform station manager of transporting airlines in Singapore about seamen, ship and shipping agent.

Work
Visa is not issued by the Embassy in India. It has to be applied directly by the sponsor in Singapore to the Immigration Department Singapore. If approved an Employment Pass will be issued which will be sent directly to the passenger who can travel with the same.

+ Zurich (ZRH)(Kloten) is 11km (7 miles) from the city. Trains and Taxis are available.
+ Geneva(GVA) is 5km (3 miles) northwest of the city. Taxis are available to the city.
+ Bern (BRN)(Belp) is 9km (5.5 miles) from the city. Bus service run from Bern to Zurich Airport. Taxis are also available.
+ Basel (BSL)(Basel-Mulhouse) is 12km (7 miles) from the city. Bus and Taxi service are available.

Visa Information
Tourist
The applicant should have a passport valid for at least 3 months from the date of expiry of the visa; one visa form (photocopy not allowed); one passport-size photograph; confirmed onward/ return air ticket; onward visa; a covering letter from the Indian company/ individual giving details of the applicant?s employment and the purpose of visit and proof of funds in the form of foreign exchange endorsement on the passport or photocopy of international credit card. In case of a family visit, to a relative or a friend, the Embassy issues a guarantee form to the applicant to send the form to sponsor in Switzerland, who will approach the Cantonal Police for Foreigners for their visa, if approved the authorities will send approval directly to the Embassy and a copy to the sponsor. Visa is valid for 90 days and is issued for a maximum stay of 90 days. Invariably visa is issued according to the confirmation of entry and exit on the air ticket and according to valid neighbouring visas. Processing time is 24 hours.

Note: Visa fee is as follows and is to be paid in cash at Delhi and in form of bank draft in Mumbai in favour of ?Consulate General Of Switzerland, Mumbai payable in Mumbai.
Urgent visa charges of 50% of visa fee to be paid in case visa is required on the same day of the application.

Business
Application procedures as above. Additional requirements are, a covering letter from the Indian organisation as a proof of employment; a letter of invitation from the business associates in Switzerland to be faxed directly to the Embassy and proof of business correspondence, income tax papers, bank statement etc can be submitted if passenger is travelling for the first time to Switzerland. Transit
Visa is required. Application procedures are as for Tourist. Validity and stay is granted as per the air ticket. However, visa is not required if the traveller has a valid entry visa, or a valid residence permit for any of the under-mentioned countries:
Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Great Britain, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden as well as USA and Canada for 24 hrs provided the traveller remains in the transit lounge.

Seamen
Country is land-locked.

Work
A foreign national who wishes to work and live in Switzerland will first of all have to secure employment through his own resources and only then apply to the Embassy for the visa. The applicant should have letter from the Indian company recommending the applicant for long term stay and letter from the Swiss company inviting the applicant for long term stay. The Embassy will issue guarantee form to the applicant who will send the form to sponsor in Switzerland, who will approach the Cantonal Police for Foreigners for his visa, if approved the authorities will send approval directly to the Embassy and a copy to the sponsor.
